Founder Finds: Hot Spots For A Hot Date
Dating in Canggu is a funny old game.
On one hand, you’ve got a cool half million cafés, beach clubs, wine bars and restaurants to choose from. On the other hand, you still end up asking each other "Where do you want to go next?" until the date is over.
To save you the indecision spiral, here are a few spots the AWILD team have been frequenting this month, so you can spend more time pretending you're not checking if they’ve viewed your IG stories every 4 minutes.
For The Casual Date: ACME
Coffee dates remain undefeated.
Low commitment. Good lighting. Easy escape route if someone starts talking about crypto.
Our current favourite is ACME, with a spot in both Pererenan and Canggu serving excellent coffee, great pastries and plenty of cosy corners to settle into.
Like every good French girl living outside of France, I pay homage to my homeland by spending my time searching for the perfect pain au chocolat. ACME's version keeps me coming back for "just one coffee" that somehow turns into a full 3 hour breakfast and 6 lattes.
For The Active Daters: Times Beach Warung
Not every date needs a reservation.
Grab a takeaway coffee, wander down the beach and make your way to Times Beach Warung. Pull up a beanbag, kick off your shoes and enjoy a coconut or bite to eat with your feet in the sand.
Conversation starts running dry? You've got plenty of backup entertainment. Enjoy some eye flirting with a handsome beach runner, watch as a surf school newbies wipe out on their giant rental boards, or make friends with one of the many beach puppies who are frankly better company than most dates anyway. #welovedogs
For Pure Romance: Mosto
If you're trying to impress someone, Mosto makes it easy.
The organic wine list is excellent, the food is ridiculously good and the candlelight will hide any pimple patches you’ve got on. It's intimate without being stuffy, lively without being loud, and absolutely the kind of place where a little game of footsies under the table is entirely appropriate.
Order a bottle, share a few plates and let the wine do what the dating apps couldn't.
For Sunset Cocktails: Ji Restaurant

Ji Restaurant delivers big date-night points with its rooftop setting overlooking the beach, excellent cocktail menu and sunset views that make everyone look at least 20% more attractive.
Arrive before golden hour, order something delicious and settle in as the sky does its thing. Whether it's a first date or your 50th, it's hard not to feel romantic when you're sipping cocktails at sundown.
